This year, the Zonta Club Of Pokhara organized the “Zonta Bazaar” to commemorate Zonta Rose Day and International Women’s Day on March 6th, 2021. The event supported locally owned businesses led and founded especially by WOMEN around the country. Today women entrepreneurs are transforming economies. We believe that they can go further with our love and support. Hence, our objective of the program was to expand opportunities to all women entrepreneurs and uplift them in this difficult situation brought by COVID-19.
On the occasion, we also felicitated three inspiring women:* Sister Clotilda, a teacher from St. Mary’s School, who has spent her entire life serving in the field of education* Madam Ishwori Gurung, a dedicated selfless social worker, who is in the service of the old and needy for the past 30 years* Madam Parvati Adhikari, who has been working tirelessly in hospital waste management We also took this opportunity to honor Miss Pratima Kandel, the club winner of Jane M. Klausman(JMK) in Business scholarship from Pokhara.
Zonta Bazaar showcased many Nepali handmade products and much more. It was the first of its kind in Pokhara, Nepal. The event was extraordinarily successful with huge crowd participation. We would also like to thank our partners for their valuable contribution to our club! We couldn’t have executed this event without the effort of our own remarkable Zontians, who put it together and made it such a special day for everyone who attended. Thank you, everyone! Together, we are making a difference for women and girls. #zontaroseday2021#choosetochallenge#zontaclubofpokhara#zontadistrict25
